Students interested in completing an undergraduate research project course or a horizontal research elective with Dr. Grierson from September-April should express interest by emailing fsglab@mcmaster.ca, and including a CV and a brief statement of interest. Where relevant, confirm that your program allows for a 6- or 9- unit research project course that enables you to be integrated into ongoing lab projects. Dr. Grierson will review the applications and reach out to successful applicants by the end of the Winter Term.

If you have any other questions, concerns, or would like to learn more, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Please note the following:

  • This is structured as an immersive research opportunity with the final deliverables being a portfolio of relevant research artifacts, and a series of reflections on the research experience. We do not accept students whose course requires an independently produced research paper.

  • Please check with your program director if the courses available to you will accommodate for this arrangement. Health Aging and Society, Integrated Science, and Kinesiology do not accommodate for this arrangement.
